Long Island's South Shore beaches are fabulous. The view from the beach at Point Lookout is spectacular in its simplicity. I took this photo while sitting on the beach in late afternoon. Click on it to get its full impact. Talk about a staycation.

For reference, the land in the background is the west end of Jones Beach. We had a wonderful summer in Pt. Lookout. Afternoons on the beach sunning and swimming, Sunday evening concerts on the beach, it is idyllic living here. As my son David says, "this is not a real place to live, it's like being away from reality. All you do is dillydally around." To which I say Exactly!!!
It's certainly not Albany.
